Who's running a GPS e-collar? What's your experience with GPS been?

For the bird hunter, thick cover seems to be the best application for GPS. Flushing dogs should always be close enough to be seen, but pointers will range out. In either case, thick cover can make consistent visual contact with your dog impossible. Most of us hate those blanking beepers that also make a dog go deaf, so close range GPS is the best solution in heavy cover. If nothing else, it will give you a sense of security that you'll always know exactly where your dog is even if you can see it.
